We visited England, March 5-25, 2026; and worked with Karen and her colleague Aarav. It was a somewhat unique planning task, as we were meeting friends for a part of our journey and the planning for that was done independently with our friends. We appreciated that Karen was willing to plan totally only a part of the trip and some incidentals for the rest of it. She was very flexible with that planning.
This was not the ideal time to visit England, a bit early in the year. However, our timing was determined by our friends who were traveling on Spring break. And yet, we were delighted to see the flora which was about a month ahead of where we live in northern Illinois; and, very relieved that the weather was fairly good.
Karen planned our week in Cornwall, also her suggestion of where we should visit (that we had not already). There she chose a lovely hotel in Falmouth and put us into the hands of a tour for our 6 days of excursions. Our guide, Brett, was wonderful and took us to a different part of Cornwall each day, several times staying with us longer than planned. He also altered our itinerary at times due to weather conditions or other factors. He was very attentive to our desires and our age (we are both 80). We enjoyed seeing the various landscapes of the area and learning about the people, the history, and the culture of Cornwall.
The rest of our trip was divided between London and Cambridge, much of this set up on our own with our friends; however, Karen did suggest and set up a couple of things for us. The most notable was a daytrip to Blenheim Palace (which we toured on our own) and Oxford (for which we had a guide…also very good). We very much enjoyed both sites, though it made for a very long day and lots of time in a vehicle. Thankfully, the driver Karen employed for us was very flexible and accommodating.
Having a “local” travel agent is always a plus. We had a couple of issues arise, and being able to WhatsApp Aarav (who was our day-to-day contact) and receive almost immediate replies and help was invaluable.
Actually, going “off” season worked out well.
We had a fantastic trip to see English Gardens. Karen was absolutely wonderful in every aspect of the trip, from our first conversation to seeing that we had an amazing adventure all the way through to the end. My son and I spent one week with a private driver/guide seeing 19 English gardens. Two of those days were traveling, so we really covered some ground to see the beautiful gardens as well as the lovely countryside. It would have been impossible for us to drive and see all that we did in that amount of time. These gardens were spread out all over England, and Karen did a wonderful job planning and organizing so that we could get everything in. Our driver/guides were absolutely wonderful and made the trip so fun and interesting.
Karen is an ultimate professional with a kind and patient demeanor. I could not have asked for a better experience with my son and we will treasure our English Garden trip forever. I rate Karen a 10+++ and would definitely contact her again for any trip coming to her area.
Karen was a wonderful trip planner. She listened closely to our wishes and booked tours and private drivers accordingly. She also made some wonderful suggestions that we had not initially considered and absolutely delighted in. The tours overall were what I consider “cream of the crop” and some were private to us which was amazing. Every tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great anecdotes/inside stories. All of the private drivers that she booked were prompt, very courteous, and excellent drivers. The itinerary was beautifully planned so that we remained busy but not overwhelmed. I would most definitely use Karen’s services again.
Just some feedback on the hotel she booked for us, the Georgian House Hotel. The hotel is a lovely boutique property located in peaceful residential area yet very near Victoria Station, so other London destinations are only minutes away by tube. We really enjoyed the location. The hotel staff provided a high level of service. The hotel is nicely decorated with a sprinkling of antique furniture throughout. The downside is that the hotel does not have a lift. Our rooms were on the second floor but we had to climb 4 full flights of stairs to reach our floor. Breakfast is served in the lower level which is another full flight of stairs. The rooms vary in size. My travel partner was across the hall from me with a good-sized room. Mine however was very small to the point of being cramped, and I was the only one in the room. In addition there was little to no sound-proofing between rooms. Someone in the room above me was a very loud snorer, which went on the entire night for a week. It was as if they were in the room with me. Luckily I had some earplugs. Should you stay at this hotel you may want to pack earplugs just in case.
Nevertheless, the trip was a great success. We loved it.
Wendy weighs in:
Gale’s tip of packing earplugs is a smart one—I pack earplugs on every trip! But it’s also important to know how Karen responded when Gale told her about the room issue. Gale was booked into the hotel for eight nights and contacted Karen after her first night’s stay. Karen immediately offered a full refund of the remaining seven nights and to move her to another hotel. Gale declined the offer, preferring to stay at her hotel and not move. We think it’s important to know that Karen took that step to make things right. —Wendy
England – Cotswolds, Cornwall & London
October 9-18, 2025
Working with Karen and her company was a seamless and easy experience. She listened to what I was looking for, and made a wonderful trip for my husband and I to England. She took my feedback every step of the way to cater the experience to our specific desires. This made the trip stress-free and so comfortable.
The one-on-one days we had with tour guides in both the Cotswolds and Cornwall regions were a highlight. She paired us with extremely knowledgeable resources who were fun and lively to spend time with. One of our guides even created a personal and local experience trying cream tea at the coastline. So delicious and something we will remember forever.
Karen found us wonderful experiences and the whole team was great to work with. When we had a small issue at one of the hotels, her team jumped in a fixed it immediately. It was our first experience with a planner but it won’t be our last.
