Our trip to Quebec was wonderful. We had been lucky enough to score tickets for one of the rare days that Frank Cabot’s Le Jardin de Quatre Vents in Charlevoix, east of Quebec, is open to the public. It was a long road trip for us and we recognized that this would be a great opportunity to explore Quebec for several days. We reached out to Yoann and he arranged several delightful days for us.
In Quebec City, he suggested an Auberge right along the St. Lawrence waterfront and a short walk from the historic center of town. Our room and the hotel were both lovely. Yoann arranged a tour of the city on foot with a wonderful, knowledgeable and charming guide. Another day, he arranged a private guide to take us hiking in the beautiful Jacques Cartier national park, a half hour drive north of the city. It was a pleasure to spend the day with a guide well versed in the flora, fauna, and history of the region.
We then drove east for a day visiting the gardens. We had been looking forward to a day whale watching, but didn’t realize that it would include c. 4-5 hours of driving that day. I am not sure how we missed that detail, it might have been mentioned in one of our calls and I didn’t retain it. In light of the fact that we didn’t want to drive that far, we decided to cut our trip short and head home after a night in the Charlevoix. We appreciated Yoann’s successful effort on our behalf to have the cost of the unused nights at the hotel refunded. We would love to visit Canada again and explore some of the East Coast provinces and we would be very happy to work with Yoann again.
We just returned from a trip to Canada, visiting Toronto, Niagara, Quebec City and Montreal. We had a great time and Yoann and his team did a great job setting up our trip. We had a lot of questions about how to spend our time and he was very helpful and responsive to requests and emails. The WOW Moment he arranged at the Peller Estates Winery was excellent! Thank you all for the experience! The restaurant did an excellent job with the special menu, and everything was great!
Using the train to get around Canada was a good idea. The VIA rail trains were excellent, convenient, and close to our hotels. We flew from Toronto City airport to Quebec City which was fun. You have to go on a ferry to get to the airport, which was strange (a 2-minute ride) but we enjoyed it, Quebec City was great, and the Food Tour was a particularly great time. The tour guide knew a lot about the food AND covered many things that we had not heard about from our other guide. In fact, the private Food Tour in Quebec City was our favorite thing about the trip!
Hotels as a whole were very good, the Le Germaine hotels in Toronto and Montreal had beautiful rooms and good locations for getting around. The Fairmont Chateaux Frontenac in Quebec City was beautiful and a great location, but room was tiny, and the hotel was crowded all the time. Can’t blame Yoann for that as I specifically requested to stay there and even with the hassles, I still think it is the best place to stay in Quebec City. We liked our day trip to Niagara Falls, don’t think you need more than 1 day there, it’s too touristy. We probably could have spent a day in Toronto since we didn’t really see anything there, but I don’t think I missed anything. Quebec City was 4 days, and I think that is about right to get in the sights and do everything you want to do. We only spent 2 days in Montreal and probably should have added one more day for a food or market tour.
It was a short trip for our standards but we enjoyed it and look forward to working with you all again on our next adventure.
Our recent trip to Montreal and Quebec City exceeded our expectations. We travel frequently, but this was our first time using a travel planner. Our planner Yoann did an excellent job and made everything so much easier for us. We were provided with outstanding tour guides (Laura in Montreal and Sarah in Quebec), which gave us a perspective we would never have had on our own. Even the private drivers we had were fun, informative and very helpful. We were looking for some unique adventures on this trip, and Yoann was able to provide us with a helicopter and a sea plane to make the trip even more memorable.
We were very happy with the tour guides Yoann booked for us. He was responsive and easy to deal with. I especially liked the fact that when he could not book a “good” guide for a Quebec tour (because our cruise ship had already booked them) he leveled with me rather than just booking just anyone.
